I wanted to choose nothing less than the best international school in Chennai for my children and I learned that there are four important criteria that you must look for when you are choosing such a school. I thought this information can be very useful for other parents like me and that is the purpose of this blog. First, you should look for a school that can offer you choice when it comes to board of education. There are two respected boards (note I am not saying recognized but respected) which are the Cambridge board and the IB board. A school which can offer students the choice of choosing between these two boards is definitely a good choice. Second, you must ensure that all the teachers and staff of the school are properly qualified. It is best if the teachers also have internationally recognized qualifications so that you can be sure that your children get the full benefit of the syllabus.
Third, you must ensure that the school has all the facilities which are required to impart the knowledge of an international syllabus fully to the students. I don’t mean only class room aids or libraries or laboratories. Any international syllabus also has very stringent extra-curricular activity requirements and sports or physical education requirements. Ideally, the school should have a good auditorium to encourage activities like debates and performing arts and it should have world class sports facilities like a synthetic stadium and so on. Finally, it is wise to choose a school which also offers residential facilities for students in case they prefer to live on campus. I chose the week boarding option for my children so that they could enjoy the facilities of the school better during the week and enjoy home and family during the weekends. This proved to be a great idea because it works like a charm for my husband and me and my children. We are all happy because there is no stress involved for any of us. Mfully children are comfortable in a beautiful campus with many well qualified staff to support and guide them.
